Butter and shortening both ingredeants in my cake recipes.but i don't want shortening ,so what can i do.?

You can substitute butter for the shortening, but it'll give a slightly different texture.Butter and shortening both ingredeants in my cake recipes.but i don't want shortening ,so what can i do.?
I have used recipes like that before and have used all butter and no shortening and they have come out fine. You can also use applesauce in place of the shortening if you don't want all the fat that both butter and shortening have.Butter and shortening both ingredeants in my cake recipes.but i don't want shortening ,so what can i do.?
Add more butter.
You can use all butter. However, the texture won't be the same. Shortening is homogenized vegetable oil, unlike lard, which is animal oil.
why not? shortening is just solidified vegetable oil. Are you worried about the trans-fats? i would think you can just substitute vegetable oil instead...
