so i grind and out sugar in with butter. but i have seen some recipes asking to add white normal sugar straight away. but i have read that it could bring bad texture to cake. Most cake recipes say caster sugar, is this completely powdered sugar or can i use normal white sugar?
Caster is not the powdery icing sugar, and its finer than normal granulated sugar. You could put some regular sugar in a food processor and pulse it a bit. that will make it a bit finer. Most cake recipes say caster sugar, is this completely powdered sugar or can i use normal white sugar?
Well it depends on what kind of cake you are making.
But in MOST cakes you can just add your normal surgar.
put your normal sugar in the food processor and it becomes finer . then you can use it as castor sugar
caster sugar is fine sugar also called fruit sugar powder sugar is too fine to use as caster sugar, if you only have regular sugar you can put it in the food processor and give the sugar a few turns not too much or you will end up with powder sugar.
