I started a diet 3 weeks ago but really miss cakes&deserts!,dose anyone have any good low cal cake recipes?

I surly sympathize with you! As a diabetic I went to classes to help us learn how to live the life style that is needed to control our blood sugar. And I'll tell you, once you get it down it's an easy diet that will have you dropping the weight %26amp; not being hungry! It's a good diet for the whole world to go by! All you need to do is to make sure that you eat every 4-5 hours %26amp; make sure that at every meal, along with your veggies %26amp; salad you have equal portions of proteins (you know, meat, eggs, peanut butter, beans) %26amp; carbos ( your pasta, rice, potatoes). I promise you ,you'll not only lose weight you wll feel great %26amp; not hungry! You see proteins make your blood sugar go down %26amp; carbos make it go up,so the equal protions things levels you out %26amp; gives you so much energy! Also,go online or in a bookstore %26amp; you'll find a lot of dessert recipes that are for Diabetic's that are also low in sugar %26amp; carbos (same thing) that are surprisingly good! Fruit is always good, although it's high in sugar,it's also low in calories %26amp; is certainly fine for you to eat. I thought I'd never be able to enjoy food or my life after becoming Diabetic %26amp; I really don't miss anything at all anymore. My treats have become different things %26amp; I'm happy with them! Try a good tart apple with peanut butter ( the peanut butter, the protein, lowers the sugar in the apple) it's sooo good. So is Brie cheese %26amp; an apple or any fruit for that matter. Well I hope I helped a littel anyway %26amp; good luck to you!I started a diet 3 weeks ago but really miss cakes%26amp;deserts!,dose anyone have any good low cal cake recipes?
you cannot deprive yourself for that long and expect to be successful. take at least 1 day every 2 weeks to splurge a little and eat something naughty. then start the diet right back up again and you will be much more successful and satisfied! Otherwise those 100 calorie mini muffins and other desserts are wonderful for satisfying those cravings without sabotaging the diet too much.I started a diet 3 weeks ago but really miss cakes%26amp;deserts!,dose anyone have any good low cal cake recipes?
None of these are actually lower in calories, but they are sugar free. As with any food, be sure to eat in moderation, even the stuff that is labeled as low fat and/or sugar free -- they still have calories and carbs.

Fruit Nut Muffins

1 cup chopped dates

陆 cup raisins

陆 cup chopped prunes

I have this Messy berry cake recipe, it is sooo good and very healthy.

1 box of vanilla fat free sugar free vanilla pudding

1 box of reduced sugar cake mix

1 thing of lite or fat free cool whip

1 bag of frozen mixed berries

Make your cake as directed on the box, I use a 13x9 pan.

Make your pudding as directed on box, (of course use skim milk), when that has set and you have had it in the fridge for about 5 minutes, add to the pudding the cool whip, and mix together until you get the lumps out. Next take a bix bowl or some sort of truffle bowl, crumble half of the cake in the bottom, then add half of the pudding/cool whip mixture, then half of the berries, then repeat (the rest of the cake, then the rest of the mixture then the rest of the berries), and that is it! I would wait until the berries thawed to eat it, but it is essentially done!
my advice is to stick to a low cal healthy diet in the week and allow yourself the weekends off. its what ive done and ive lost a stone and kept it off. however you must make sure you really calorie count everything in the week and exercise along with it. weightlossresources is a great website for figuring out how many calories you need a day to loose weight and to maintain it. it also helpd you find the calorie content of foods that arent labelled.

try baking cakes and deserts at home so you can use low cal versions of things like butter/ margarine etc.

good luck!
Buy Joanna Lund's dessert books. I can't remember their exact names but you can search for her books at Amazon.com or BN.com

Here's a recipe I adapted from one of her recipes.

I'm a diabetic so imagine the delima I have with my sweet tooth. I use this site called DLIFE. It's a site for diabetics with all types of recipes . My favorite was the peanut butter chocolate fudge. If you are watching your carbs this would be perfect for you. The recipes are actually good.
what i do is treat myself. if im going to diet i can only have things on the weekend but not big portions either. So treat yourself saturdays and sundays with a blizzard from DQ or make or buy cupcakes.
Try www.hungry-girl.com, good recipes, and there are some great low cal ice cream tubs to choose from =]
