Here's the easiest cake I make:
Easy Applesauce bundt cake:
1 cake mix (yellow or spice cake)
3 eggs
1 15 oz can applesauce
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a small dish.
Grease or spray your bundt pan
Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture all over the inside of the cake pan. (as if you were flouring the pan).
Put cake mix (dry) in a large bowl.
Combine eggs and applesauce in a separate bowl.
Pour applesauce mixture over the cake mix and stir until the cake mix is moistened. This is like mixing muffins or quick bread. Don't over mix. A few lumps are okay.
Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
Bake at 350 until the cake is done. (about 50 minutes)
Cool cake in the pan 10 minutes and then turn it out on a plate. Sprinkle the top with a little powdered sugar if you like.
Serve plain, or with ice cream or custard sauce.
Dark chocolate cake mix...mix as per instructions...add chopped marschino (sp...sorry) cherries and chocolate chips...
Bake as per box. Frost with fluffy white icing... there used to be a fluffy white icing mix in a box. Not sure if it's still on the market...but here is a recipe for it. Or just use whatever you like of course.
3 egg whites, room temperature
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light Karo syrup
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Put all ingredients in top of double boiler over cold water. Beat continuously with electric beat until frosting stands in peaks. This will take about 7 minutes. Spread on cake. Yummy! Will frost 9 inch layer cake.
I have a good recipe I use:
